Best-Selling Trucks

Think of an SUV and you may picture a suburban family on
their way to the kids' soccer game.  Think of a pick-up
truck and you may think of a Texas cattle ranch or a
Kentucky horse farm.  But SUV's and pick-up trucks have a
universal appeal to many non-traditional drivers who love
the convenience and features of a truck.

A pick up and an SUV are just two of the types of trucks on
the road today.  In fact, trucks outnumber standard cars on
city highways and country roads.  These powerful vehicles
represent power and status.  In many circles, "boys and
their toys" is all about a man and his love for a truck.

>From the '50s to the '70s, a family car meant owning a
station wagon, not a truck.  In many families today, the
most accommodating vehicles are SUVs or 6-passenger pickups
with all-wheel drive.  The pickup is no longer a vehicle
that's driven by men with too much testosterone; women want
the comfort of powerful truck with a V8 engine and
exceptional handling.

Ford F-150 pick-up trucks remain the top-selling truck in
America.  Not only that, but for the last twenty years, the
Ford F-series trucks has been the best selling vehicle
overall in the American market.  Pretty impressive for a
truck series to eclipse any make and model of car.  Ford
trucks are known for their powerful V8 engines, easy
handling, cab and seating options, and full size truck beds.
These great features are hard to beat.  Affordability also
is an attractive feature; Ford F-150s are sold for $20,000
to $40,000 while most Ford Explorers sell for $24,000 to
$31,500.  Ford F-series trucks rank so well in popularity
that they outsold the next two top-selling trucks of GMC
and Chevrolet combined.

Next on the list are GMC trucks.  These pickups are a little
more affordable but carry a slightly less consumer rating.
GMC styles in this list include GMC Canyon Compact Truck for
$16,000 to $29,000 and GMC Sierra.  GMC Sierra comes in
1500HD, 2500HD and 3500HD with prices that range from
$18,000 to $42,000.

The Chevy Silverado is nearly as popular as the GMC trucks.
This attractive truck has excellent towing capabilities but
is quite expensive as costs range from $29,000 to $42,000.
Other automobile companies make trucks that each have their
fans.  These include the HUMMER H2, Lincoln Mark LT, Dodge
Ram, Honda Ridgeline, and Nissan Titan.

Modern truck buyers are looking for more than price when
selecting their truck.  Buyers are willing to pay the price
for features such a four-wheel drive, flexible cab options
and cargo capacity.  Americans use their all-American
pick-up trucks.  We didn't invent them just to look pretty!

Trucks are America's number one choice for a vehicle for a
reason.  Families have discovered how practical a truck can
be for everyday life.
